We asked Kristina to talk about herself so that all clients could get to know more about her.

Originally from New Jersey, I was the oldest of three and had two younger brothers who called me “Krissy” growing up. I grew up in middle class suburbia during times when you used to leave the house at 8 a.m. and not come back until you heard the dinner bell ring. Just as importantly, back then we had to earn everything we wanted or needed. They were simpler but more accountable times! I was involved in sports as a long-distance runner in cross country (varsity as a freshman) and track (3200-meter race) and played soccer (center forward). That was and is still me!

I attended college right after high school, not taking any time off. I took a chance and went into Manhattan for my first job on Wall Street and later Park Avenue, one of the first rewarding experiences of my life. I was in Investment Banking for about 12 years where I built many friendships with close bonds, learned a lot, and picked up a killer work ethic and A-titude (just sayin’). I gained a tremendous amount of experience and insight, and further built my intuition. And although I was a “suburban” girl at heart, I grew to really love the city and all it had to offer…shopping, sushi, Broadway, dance, tailgating, concerts, the Yankees and the Giants (yes, Marty loves that I love the Yankees!). I think I was there during New York City’s best and worst times.

While I miss those relationships and the energy of the city, I am very happy to have landed in Sarasota in 2004. What brought me here? 13 years ago, I became a young widow and decided to head south to this beautiful place with my two babies to start over. Sarasota is now my home.

I am grateful for every day, inject humor into everything I do and no longer worry too much about the small stuff. Life is too short and I don’t look in the rear-view mirror.

As Maya Angelou said, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”  Well, I hope so, anyway!

I have a wonderful tribe around me…. supportive family, amazing friends, neighbors and even my co-workers and clients that I consider family!

I am mom and dad to two wonderful kids: Amanda, 21, attends college in Ft. Myers and is a future nurse. Alex, 15, is a freshman in high school and an awesome baseball player. They both keep me busy, but in my spare time when I’m not watching baseball, or driving down to Ft. Myers to see my daughter, I love, love being on the water, boating, and staying active. I am very athletic and can play any sport (except golf), although I miss playing tennis. I enjoy working out in the morning, going to comedy shows, and the Van Wezel for any kind of performance.

Now that my youngest is almost driving and becoming independent, I have more free time and hope to gradually get more involved in the community. I love children and feel that the future depends on them, therefore most of my passions revolve around the well-being of our youth. It all starts at home, but I have been a supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, More Too Life, Habitat for Humanity, the Guardian Ad Litem Program to name a few. These are all organizations that I am learning more about and hope to become more involved in. Like Allegiant Private Advisors and our clients, giving back is extremely important to me, too, and I want that to become a bigger part of my life.

Allegiant is like my home away from home (after all, I am here every day from 8-??) and I feel very lucky to be here. I met Conni Arledge while I was at another firm, and we connected on such a level that I decided to join Allegiant. I didn’t realize it at the time, but it was one of the best decisions I ever made. (Now that Conni has retired, I have big shoes to fill, I know!). The support and encouragement from the team here and the clients has been amazing, so thank you. It is my hope that my loyalty to this firm, and my compassion and commitment to our clients, is felt by all and creates a positive and meaningful interaction with every person, every day.

So come on by, I’d like to get to know all of you, and you to know me. Let’s go to lunch. Whatever it is, my door is open!
